Dew Garden - Bio Gallery

The Chinese ancient literati were always fond of landscapes and wished to accommodate nature in their own homes. The garden is a metaphor for the forest with trees and vegetation, a river with creek channels, and a peak with a rockery. Our design intends to link the rich elements of the natural environment through the flexible forms of the new buildings and the white guidelines on the ground, to complete the garden within Green Expo Garden.

When we put ourselves in the scene, to ask what architecture can grow freely in site, the answer is two dewdrop. Countless dewdrop awake in the park in the early morning, dripping from the leaves, but this time the moment they touch the river they choose not to converge, but to pop up and take shape, continuing the life given by nature. They roll in the wind, and they dance in the forest. The ripples they create form a path, linking the site, themselves and  people passing by.

The facade is made of extremely thin ETFE membrane, which can outline the free and plump form of dewdrop to the greatest extent. The transparent and white membrane also allows sunlight to penetrate and mappings the dappled outdoor trees shadow like a scroll, creating a mysterious and vivid sense of space visually.
